
PDIP identifies 45 law violations in Bank Century case

wib)JAKNEWS.COM---The Indonesian Democracy Party-Struggle (PDIP) faction in the House of Representatives has identified 45 breaches of the law in the Bank Century case and is recommending their further investigation by law-enfocing agencies, a spokesman said.
Gayus Lumbuun, vice chairman of the PDIP faction in the parliament, said here Tuesday (2/2), the 45 unlawful acts were identified based on the nine findings of a State Audit Board (BPK) audit on the bank`s finances and the testimonies of witnesses heard by the House Bank Century Inquiry Committee.
"The Inquiry Committee did its own investigation based on the BPK`s nine findings," said Gayus who is also the committee`s vice chairman.
Among the 45 identified law violations, Gayus said, were the issuance of Government Regulation in Lieu of Law (Perppu) No 4 of 2008 on a Financial System Safety Net (JPSK), amendment of the Bank Indonesia Regulation (PBI) on conditions to obtain Short-Term Financing Facility (FPJP) funds, extension of FPJP funds to Bank Century, the existence of the Communication Committee (KK), the decision of the financial System Stability Committee (KSSK) to save Bank Century.
Meanwhile, Ganjar Pranowo, a PDIP legislator in the House Bank Century Inquiry Comittee, said based on the breaches of law found in the Bank century case, his party`s faction in the House had concluded that four instititutions were involved or respsonsible for the violations, namely Bank Indonesia (BI), the KSSK, KK, and the Deposit Insurance Institute (LPS).
He said the Inquiry Committee had so far been investigating what had not yet been uncovered by the BPK audit on the Bank Century finances.
