JAKNEWS.COM---The Prosperous Justice Party (PKS) awarded political expert Azyumardi Azra for his sharp opinions and analysis on Indonesian politics during the closing ceremony of the party's national congress on Sunday (20/6).

The national congress was held at Ritz Carlton Hotel in Jakarta from June 16 to 20. The congress was attended by more than 5000 members of the party who came from provinces, cities and regencies across the country.

The party also awarded Ki Mantep Sudarsono, a renowned puppeteer, for his contribution in preserving the country's traditional culture both at national and international levels.

Habiburrahman El-Shirazy, author of a national best seller novel (Ayat-Ayat Cinta [Love Verses]), was also awarded for his literature works which disseminate Islamic teachings to readers.
